Membership in the AAAEP is open to all accredited educational institutions whose institutional accreditor is recognized by the U.S. Dept. of Education and that sponsor CAAHEP accredited or CAAHEP applicant Anesthesiologist Assistant education programs.


Membership Policy - Best Practices-Clinical Practice Sites (2023-10)

Minimum Expectation: It is an expectation that AAAEP member programs and applicants for membership will adhere to these best practices, and by doing so will establish and maintain strong relationships with clinical training sites, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment that benefits students, the healthcare system, and patient care.


Institutional Members: Institutional Members are AA programs that possess CAAHEP accreditation status. Program accreditation information including award letters and program director contact information can be accessed by searching underFind An Accredited Programon the CAAHEP website.


Provisional Members: New and emerging AA education program applicants for CAAHEP accreditation in collaboration with the ARC-AA are eligible to apply for AAAEP Provisional Membership status. AAAEP Provisional Membership status is valid for 1 year.


Board of Directors: Each Institutional Member of the AAAEP appoints a Director to the Board of Directors. Each Director is responsible for casting a vote on each matter submitted to the Board of Directors. Each Provisional Member of the AAAEP appoints a representative (non-voting) to the Board of Directors.
